Is content king? Well, no, but it isn’t far of that lofty position either. Is anything King when it comes down to it? Mmmm… that is another question and another blog on another day.

Back to giant gorillas. If I am being honest the title for this particular blog was to tempting to pass on but it poses an interesting question to start off a new blog series all about content creation and the different ways to go about it.

Providing a constant flow of quality content has always been on the list of things to do in order to create decent sites that will keep visitors coming back to see whats new. For the user, finding old out dated reviews and a news section that should really be called an archive section is frustrating. It also smacks a little of laziness and disrespect towards the user – not a good message to be putting across. The end result is the person hitting your site is liable to get fed up and go elsewhere looking for what they need and before long find one of your competitors sites which will be annoyingly full of fresh information, a buzzing forum, fascinating blogs etc.

However, it is well worth remembering that you must think about this from an SEO perspective as well for if you are serious about boosting your site up the search engine rankings then ensuring a steady supply of quality content will improve your organic visibility to search engines. After all, the battle is fought on two fronts with web site promotion ?? keep the visitors happy whether they be human or search bots dispatched by the search engines. Neglect either one and your site ranking will suffer sooner or later.

Here at Teapot Creative HQ we know as all website owners do how tricky it is to keep content fresh, interesting, useful and most importantly of all, coming in abundance. We also know just like everyone else that this is fundamental SEO stuff but that doesn’t make it any easier to come up with new content. It occurred to us therefore that it would be helpful to provide a range of tips on what you can do to make content creation a slightly less onerous job. This will help you develop a site that your users will enjoy returning too and your search engine ranking will benefit from as well.

There are lots of ways of keeping that content coming in and over the next few weeks we will go through them one by one providing you with a stack of ideas to try out. Some of them will apply to your sites and others won’t but the main thing is to give them a go and see what works for you.
